Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most patients describe BBL as a warm "snap" feeling. Moxi can feel like a prickly heat. We can apply a topical numbing cream to ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure.

  • BBL has very little downtime; your sun spots may darken and look like "coffee grounds" for a few days before flaking off. Moxi leaves the skin feeling like sandpaper for 3–5 days as the old skin sloughs off to reveal the fresh skin underneath.

  • We generally recommend saving laser treatments for fall and winter when you have less sun exposure, as tanned skin cannot be safely treated. However, Moxi is safe year-round if you are diligent about sun protection!
