Pre-Holiday Botox: When to Book Your Appointment in OKC (Timing is Everything!)

The fall season in Oklahoma City is a whirlwind. One minute you are watching football and carving pumpkins, and the next, your calendar is completely booked with Thanksgiving dinners, company holiday parties, and family photo sessions.

You want to look your absolute best for the holidays—rested, glowing, and confident. For many of our patients at KC Wellness, that means scheduling a "refresh" with Botox or Dysport.

However, there is a common mistake we see every single year: patients calling the week of Thanksgiving hoping to squeeze in an appointment so they look perfect for Thursday's dinner. Unfortunately, aesthetic injectables don’t work like a fresh haircut or a spray tan. They require time to settle. If you want flawless holiday results, timing is everything.

Here is your ultimate guide to scheduling your pre-holiday injectables inside Refined OKC.

The 14-Day Rule

The most important fact to know about neuromodulators (like Botox and Dysport) is that the results are not instant.

When Kelli Cossey, RN, BSN, injects the product into your targeted facial muscles, it takes time for the neurotoxin to bind to the receptors and block the nerve signals that cause the muscle to contract.

  • Dysport: Typically starts kicking in within 2 to 5 days.

  • Botox: Usually starts kicking in within 4 to 7 days.

  • Full Results: For both products, it takes a full 14 days for the treatment to reach its maximum effect and settle completely.

If you get injected on a Tuesday and have a massive holiday party on Friday, you are not going to see your final, smooth results in those photos.

Planning for the "Touch-Up"

At KC Wellness, we believe in a conservative, "less is more" approach. We never want you to look frozen. Because we customize every dosage (priced at $13.00/unit), we always recommend a two-week follow-up appointment for newer patients.

This allows Kelli to assess how your unique facial muscles reacted to the product. If one eyebrow needs a tiny drop more to be perfectly symmetrical, we do it then. If you book too close to your event, you leave absolutely no buffer room for these crucial minor adjustments.

The Bruising Buffer

While Botox injections use a microscopic needle and downtime is incredibly minimal, any time a needle enters the skin, there is a slight risk of a tiny bruise or minor swelling. While easily covered with makeup, you still want to give your skin a few days to heal before stepping in front of a professional photographer.

The Ideal Holiday Booking Timeline

To ensure you look naturally radiant, smooth, and relaxed, you should book your appointment 3 to 4 weeks before your biggest holiday event.

  • For Thanksgiving / Late November Family Photos: Book your appointment in late October or the very first week of November.

  • For Christmas / New Year's Eve: Book your appointment right around Thanksgiving week or the very beginning of December.

Don't Wait Until the Schedule is Full

The holiday season is the busiest time of year in the aesthetic industry. Appointment slots fill up weeks in advance. Take a look at your calendar now, figure out when your most important events are, and work backward.
